The invisible weight of moving abroad

Sometimes it's not just the relationship that's under pressure.

A move can change everything around a couple: friendships, work, family support, routines, even the roles you once knew how to play.

Perhaps one of you feels at home while the other feels lost. Perhaps you come from different cultures and have different expectations of family, closeness or independence. Or perhaps the relationship has become the place where all the stress of expat life lands.

You don't have to untangle all of that on your own. Therapy can help you understand what's happening between you, not just what's happening around you.

Home is not only a place. It's also how safe and understood you feel together.

When you live between countries, languages or cultures, your relationship can become an anchor. It can also carry more than either of you expected.
