Different roots & belonging
One of you may have a wider support network, feel more at home, or have a different relationship with the idea of staying. Those differences can quietly shape security and closeness.

COUPLES THERAPY FOR INTERNATIONAL LIFE
Perhaps one of you grew up in Luxembourg and the other came from abroad. Perhaps you are both international, working, parenting and making decisions in a language that is not your first. You may have built a good life here, yet still find yourselves misunderstanding each other in the moments that matter.
In a place where several languages and cultures meet, the smallest disagreement can hold different meanings. How involved should family be? Who carries the mental load? What feels supportive to one partner can feel intrusive or distant to the other.
Underneath the practical conversations there is often something more tender: the wish to feel chosen, supported and on the same side. Therapy helps you get curious about the cycle, instead of deciding who is to blame.
Whether your relationship is between two expats, a Luxembourgish and international partner, or two people whose histories are simply different, there is room for both perspectives.
WHAT BRINGS COUPLES TO THERAPY
International life in Luxembourg can be rewarding and demanding at the same time. These are some of the experiences couples bring into our sessions.
One of you may have a wider support network, feel more at home, or have a different relationship with the idea of staying. Those differences can quietly shape security and closeness.
Family involvement, communication styles and ideas of partnership can carry very different meanings across cultures. We work to understand those meanings rather than label one as right.
Long workdays, commuting, parenting and the everyday administration of life can leave little space for connection. We make room for fairer responsibilities and more intentional time together.
HOW WE WORK TOGETHER
I’m Francesca, a systemic couples therapist working online in English with expat, international and intercultural couples. I look beyond the surface argument to the emotional needs, personal histories and expectations that give it meaning.
We explore the ways your stories meet, and sometimes collide. You can learn to recognise the pattern between you sooner, make room for different ways of expressing love and build agreements that work in everyday life.
I’m not a silent observer. I offer reflections, practical tools and gentle challenges while helping both of you take responsibility for the relationship you want to create.
