The Couples RoomRelationships beyond borders

Our approach

What happens between you makes sense.

And it can change.

The same conversation, the same hurt, the same distance. Often, neither of you intended to end up here.

Together, we look beneath the argument, understand what keeps happening, and find a new way to reach each other.

A space for both of you, whatever your story.

not the enemy.

both experiences.
03Turn understanding
into change.

Beyond the argument

The argument is rarely the whole story.

One of you asks for closeness. The other needs space. One feels left alone with the responsibility. The other feels that nothing they do is enough.

It's easy to get stuck debating who started it. More useful is understanding what happens between you, and what each of you is protecting, missing or trying to say.

Therapy isn't about deciding who's right. It's about helping both of you feel heard, understood and valued.

A relationship for both

Compassion and accountability belong together.

We make space for what each of you has lived through, without letting old patterns decide how you treat each other today. Understanding is important. So is taking responsibility for what happens next.

How we work

Insight matters. So does change.

My work draws on Systemic Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Relational Life Therapy (RLT). It is warm and collaborative, but it is not endless talking.

01

Slow the cycle.

Notice the moments you lose each other and what happens to both of you.

02

Understand the needs.

Explore the feelings, histories and expectations beneath your reactions.

03

Practise repair.

Find different ways to talk, share responsibility and come back together.

Different cultures. Different minds.

Your differences belong in the room.

Living expat life can put unexpected pressure on a relationship. You may be far from family, making decisions across cultures, or trying to create a shared sense of home.

ADHD and autism can bring different ways of processing, communicating or managing everyday life. For some people, years of feeling misunderstood add another layer. For others, the challenges look very different.

There is no one-size-fits-all relationship. We work toward one where neither partner has to disappear for the other to feel okay.
